We also had glued-on fly screens in the bathroom of our old apartment. They served their purpose and were super quick and easy to install on the small windows (40 x 40 cm).
In our condominium, we have fixed-frame fly screens from the window manufacturer in most rooms, and in two rooms we installed fixed-frame fly screens from Lidl ourselves for 20 euros. Both types are good in terms of quality.
My conclusion: Except for the fly screen on the double-leaf terrace door, I would never take the fly screens from the window manufacturer again. There are three reasons for this:
1. I do not see any quality difference or added value that would justify the price difference compared to the fly screens.
2. The window manufacturer installed the things so stupidly that you can only remove the fly screens if you first unscrew the roller shutter rail on one side. But you cannot get to it without destroying the screen…
3. In two rooms, he screwed the things on so stupidly that condensate always collects between the window frame and the fly screen.
Fixed screwed ones are not necessary in my opinion either. The ones with clamp frames are extremely practical and offer just as much full protection. One cost almost €115, but I would do it that way anytime again. Compared to what such a house costs, that is very little expense.
