There are no craftsmen who don't complain. Generally, everyone in Germany complains. It's a bit of a culture! I also like to complain, even though our company makes billion-euro profits. It's all nonsense!

One must not forget that in recent years many have properly filled their pockets. I still remember when craftsmen showed up to appointments with a rusty wreck. Everyone can see what kind of cars they drive today. I couldn't care less about the whining of the oh-so-affected companies in the construction industry. With price increases, it’s always directly on the "man/woman," but in the other direction, they first have to "eat some fat." Reminds me strongly of the oil companies. And if some of them grant discounts despite immensely high energy costs, it only shows the profit margins of the past.

On the one hand, some prospective buyers have to say goodbye to their original real estate dreams and buy a smaller property. "In general, it can be observed that the loan amounts are getting smaller," says Neumann.

Many interested parties are increasingly looking at existing properties because new builds are difficult to calculate. "Those who still want to realize the dream of their own four walls now often make compromises in terms of location, age, or size of the property," says Neumann.

On the other hand, buyers accept a longer debt period to be able to cope with higher interest rates and still high purchase prices: The average initial repayment rate has fallen from 2.71 percent to 2.19 percent in August 2022 within twelve months.

And in the process, they were sometimes really arrogant, especially the landscape gardeners. How many quotes we had to pay for when anyone even bothered to respond at all.
