Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

Just like every year. Find a cheap (somewhat reputable) provider and sign a new contract. This can also be the basic supplier. How else?

The question is whether they are actually that much cheaper? Hence the question... I can also call them. It just seems fishy to me.

There would be a way to make building (at least for housing companies and similar, where it makes sense) insanely attractive all at once. Elimination of VAT. But that reduces federal revenue...

Or suspend the real estate transfer tax for an indefinite period.

The question is whether it is actually that much cheaper?

Only you can answer that yourself. You won’t get around it, you just have to search instead of asking here. The price is regional, even varies greatly from city to city.

It also has something to do with costs, but not purely construction costs:

Our current electricity price provider is increasing prices by about 100% at the start of the new year. The working price is just under 60 cents. On the internet, EnBw is listed at 37 cents. Just cancel the contract so that I end up with the basic tariff? How do you handle this?

This will bring less for rental housing construction. For the existing stock, I would find it more sensible to first reduce the broker fees by only making the person who actually chose the broker pay. Aside from the conflict of interest a broker has, the ratio of payment to service is horrendous from the buyers' perspective. But there it’s a case of sink or swim.

Exactly, how is one supposed to build over 100k apartments more in a collapsing market situation. That will probably remain their secret. Rather, there will be -100k apartments per year in the coming years than more. But unfortunately, this is not seen by the responsible political authorities. Unbelievable. And until some building regulations are streamlined, as in other European countries, decades will probably have to pass. Unfortunately, that is the truth, even if as a minister one cannot say it now.
