The strange thing is, I just read in the Tagesspiegel Checkpoint that there was a loyalty offer for existing customers. All those who did not accept it are now supposed to have received the increase. But I don't remember the offer at all. I'll follow up on that again... Crazy, the contact form doesn't work - they must be getting a lot of inquiries right now...

I don't understand. If I renew the contract from 01.12., then I have contractual terms which also include the price. And if the contract period runs for 12 months, then both must adhere to the contractual terms, or not? But apparently the supplier is allowed to adjust prices at any time unless there is a price guarantee. I just find it strange that many write that the price is usually increased after the contract term expires. It's now one week before the end and I have not received any mail yet. What is also strange is that I signed up via CheckXX last year at 30.54ct and in the app a unit price of 26.25ct is shown. Well, let's see what the billing shows next week... probably the bonus based on consumption X is included there. When I go to their website, they are currently advertising a work price of 66.95ct o_O

only criticism* at the expense of poorer countries, where the situation doesn’t look quite as rosy.

Well, for many the price lock will coincide with the contract period. At least it is like that for us.

That is actually the usual case. That's how I know it anyway. And after the price commitment, the supplier is free to set prices, even if you have a contract. You can then cancel in the event of an increase.

Correct.
Your contractual basis is a price guarantee until 31.12.2022. No more but also no less. Or do you have a price guarantee until 31.11.2023? Then that would also be stated in your documents. And if the provider adheres to the contract, they guarantee the price until 31.12.2022 and can then adjust it – if they increase it, you have a right to terminate and can enter into a new contract.

That is not strange, but completely normal. It concerns every electricity provider and every customer. It has become cheaper for all of us since 01.07.2022 (that was the date, if I remember correctly).

And this too is an unfortunately normal price by now.
