Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

I can see it very clearly with my father. The terraced house extends over four floors with a total of about 180 m2 of living and usable space. He hasn't seen the attic for years and only goes into the cellar when he takes something out of the freezer. Regardless of the structural condition, the ongoing costs are slowly but surely becoming a problem for him. Last year he needed 3,500 liters of heating oil, anyone can calculate what that currently costs...

And this is exactly where the rub lies. We will have to keep building for a very long time. Energy will now become a significant cost factor. Many houses that are older than 25-30 years will become unattractive in the future due to the high 'fixed costs'. By the way, mineral wool is now about 80% more expensive than 12 months ago, also only 2-3k/house and still....

Yes, I also had to make the mistake with the sanitary exhibition. I hope this business model dies out.

Therefore, I recommend the "sanitary exhibition" on the internet. That way you can at least get a feel for the prices, even if the plumber then adds a hefty surcharge. But at least this prevents accidentally choosing the €4000 mirror cabinet and expecting Ikea prices.

yeah, what Hansgrohe concealed fittings and the Villeroy & Boch bathtub cost as well as the illuminated washbasin etc., old Finn. That was a hefty price tag.
We planned our three shower baths ourselves, bought all the materials ourselves from the elephant skin to the silicone and then chased the tiler.
We spent nearly 18k just on the materials!
I wouldn't have been able/wanted to afford this luxury even remotely through a bathroom exhibition. The main bathroom was already beyond 40k, which was an absolute rip-off.

Yes, a „Wellnessoase“ just costs that much. :D

One more addendum to the sanitary exhibition, because memories are surfacing again: There were actually WC flush plates for 1000€ each. Even simple glass variants quickly added 200€ or more surcharge per WC. If you’re not careful, the bathroom really quickly costs 40k. Crazy.

I then put together a solid, affordable setup online and sent the shopping cart to the plumber. He then ordered everything himself and installed it as desired with a moderate surcharge.

We did it the same way and ended up at 3500 euros per bathroom.

Nowhere, because you would have to disclose your address, personal details, walking distance to the nearest bakery, etc. ;-)
