I was also allowed to apply for them without meeting the application criteria? I have struggled through evening schools for years. That is why I pay taxes, so that others can claim Baukindergeld, who in turn benefit only marginally at best because this money sinks into an overheated industry. Performance pays off!

I hope the evening school was not subsidized. Not that my tax money sinks into an evening school where others use it, and then do not benefit from it maximally because they are already too old to get that knowledge back through taxes after 45 years of work. The money should rather be invested in the children! But where I fully agree with you: performance finally pays off again in Germany. What could be more rewarding than helping to shape a society where everyone can go to school, to evening school, to university, etc.? Everything is always so terribly awful in Germany... and all these levies... I really have to be careful that no one hears me crying on my golden toilet.

From tomorrow, the new interest rates of the kfw will come into effect. These are supposed to be much lower. I am curious.

Now don’t be so bitter. We live here at a level that others only dream of (without ever realistically having the chance to reach this standard). I also pay a "whole lot of taxes" (without evening school) and don’t complain. I even regularly give money purposefully to those in need, work cheaper or even for free for social institutions, but on the other hand I also take advantage of grants (KfW40+). I am not "totally left" either, I’m not blind and stupid. There is a lot! potential for improvements, especially in the jungle of subsidies that often only serve to redistribute money from the bottom to the top (even if it sometimes looks different at first glance). But the massive concentration of money in few places leads to nothing good, the lack of taxation on wealth (money does not work!) is catastrophic. If it ever comes to "Proletarians of all countries ....", then good night. And if we continue like this, we will force "them" to do so. End of message

I am really bad at spelling, but what do you mean by the first sentence? Somehow the question sentence is formulated oddly. Is your income that high? Do you have no children? Was the application date missed? You can be sure, the 40k€ went into the special repayment and my terrace roofing in full, but that’s because we were already (almost) finished when the last invoices arrived. Hope that’s some consolation!

I would have gladly presented you with one or two evening school sessions! Maybe that would have led to some economic understanding and to recognizing that redistribution and subsidy policies should not be accepted just like that, because – unlike you – one can better assess the impact on our country's competitiveness. Surely you also gladly pay the Renewable Energy Sources Act surcharge and enjoy how our electricity prices compare within the EU! Have a nice day on the subsidized golden toilet!
