It only gets really funny in elementary school when you get the bill for the after-school care fees, if you're lucky enough to get a spot in the after-school care. I had to reduce my hours from 80% to 50% because the children have to come home from elementary school by 1 pm at the latest, if not earlier due to cancellations. We only have the right to afternoon care when the children move up to middle school. Thanks for nothing CSU.
In our city, the CSU has slowed down or not approved the construction of a new daycare center in the size desired by the provider over the past few years. As a result, about 20 nursery places are now missing. The same CSU faction, together with the then CSU mayor, also ensured that the same provider did not build an after-school care facility. The city council’s reasoning, which mainly consisted of old men around 60+: "We don’t need something like that here in the countryside."
Suddenly, the local private school, which offers afternoon care starting from grade 1, is seeing more demand.
