Where is this? And as a former Hamburg resident and current Berliner, I am used to rough language. I can only say, very often they don’t mean it that way at all.

Well, we know that tone too. Berliners are just a bit gruff. But when the cashier sharply reprimands the elderly lady or the campsite owner very unfriendly calls together and insults camping newcomers... It was just very noticeable whether East or West part. With a few exceptions, of course.

I experienced the Harz as quite friendly. As a "user interface," I find the Kölsche particularly pleasant. Friendly and always ready with a smile or a joke. I think you can especially see how the people of a region interact with each other at the weekly market - before buying property, just go to the market...

Crazy, I was there twice, with exactly the same experiences. My wife always says that's nonsense because there are no regional boundaries with friendly and unfriendly people. But sometimes I was speechless there. And I am also an Easterner, having lived in Berlin for 12 years. Here there is the typical cheekiness with a friendly nature. In the Harz on the eastern side, the nature seemed rather frustrated.

phew… here I am reminded of the suicide of a classmate… After living in Berlin for years, he moved to the Harz. That was probably the worst decision of his life. He didn’t even want to unpack his moving boxes.. That’s what I’m thinking about right now, while reading this..

Received our cost estimate from the architect on Friday. A hefty 39% added on top of the net production costs... No ordinary mortal can afford that anymore...;(
