Regarding Nord Stream 2. The billions are not paid by the Federal Republic, but by the builder and operator. Ultimately Gazprom. And you do not make contracts, grant approvals, etc., and let it be completed only to say when everything is finished and the company has spent billions that it is not, it was all a mistake. That is not how one behaves. Nord Stream is finished.

All parties involved knew long before construction began that gas had to end. They just didn’t listen to the warning. And someone will soon foot the bill. It certainly won’t be the oligarchs.

Nothing is absolutely necessary. Gas is currently the cleanest way to use fossil energy. Externally sourced electricity is generated one-third from coal, so the heat pump vest is not exactly spotless either. How peak loads are supposed to be absorbed in the future without fossil and nuclear power plants is also not yet clarified. I personally think the whole fuss is largely unnecessary anyway. The nice thing about fossil fuels is that they are finite. Whether 50 more years of power heating will ultimately make the grass grow so fat? People only really become inventive out of genuine necessity. As long as everything is still sufficiently and cheaply available, these are only half-baked efforts.

From how many deaths per year does "real emergency" actually exist? This whole thing is really no joke. Take an evening to look at what the current climate report says.

And just because heat pumps are not yet operated with 100% renewable energy - gas heating systems are guaranteed to be operated with 0% renewable energy.

You forget the solar thermal system, which was/is basically mandatory for new gas buildings.

Oh come on, there have been enough people thrown around as dead in the last 2 years. Humans are flexible, as a group they will find solutions. If you consider this a real emergency, you should count yourself lucky.
