Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

Are there many Ukrainian construction workers? I really have no idea. We employ a team of software developers. That is currently also a problem.

I am not sure if it fits the topic "Baukosten": On the website of our gas provider I just saw that the cost for a house connection has been Euro 849 since 01.01.22, while we ordered our connection in November 2021 and paid Euro 649 for it, even though the installation is only carried out this year. For new builders, this is therefore a cost increase of about 31%.

Everyone is currently trying to push through higher prices because of the energy prices. Hope this remains temporary, everything was already unaffordable even before the crises.

I can't imagine that anyone is still having a gas connection installed nowadays. Even if you find a supplier, no one knows if you will actually receive any supply from winter on.

100% price increase in steel. I have currently heard from half a dozen prospective builders who will cancel their projects. No wonder. It is absolutely no fun here anymore.

Anyone who installs a gas connection in 2022 clearly hasn't got a clue... You might as well indulge in a large-capacity diesel, it won't make any difference anymore anyway :)
