Actually, we can’t. If you see what is thrown away there daily, it’s madness. A few reasonable people at least cooperate with Tafel, Too Good To Go, and Foodsharing, but that is far too few.

I always thought so too, but it's actually not the case. Eckstein (after all, the best franchisee) has made this very clear several times. They immediately notice it in the sales figures.

It is expected, though. Just go to the bakery shortly before closing time and listen to the complaints when customers don't get the items they want.

I know. But that doesn’t make it any better. And if everyone joined in saving, a lot could be saved without it hurting. If someone wants something special, they can order it. But it would already help a lot if all stores were required not to throw anything away but to give away surpluses. I mean, that’s how it is in France. That could achieve a lot without anyone having to restrict themselves. By the way, it would also save energy.
