It is expected, though. Just go to the bakery shortly before closing time and listen to the complaints when customers don’t get the items they want.
I know. But that doesn’t make it any better. And if everyone joined in saving, a lot could be saved without it hurting. If someone wants something special, they can order it. But it would already help a lot if all stores were required not to throw anything away but to give away surpluses. I mean, that’s how it is in France. That could achieve a lot without anyone having to restrict themselves. By the way, it would also save energy.
