They can only terminate my contract at the end of December. And then they can raise the price anyway, so it doesn't benefit them. And a contract is a contract, and as long as the government doesn't change anything about it, I expect laws to be followed.

By the way, this year we achieved the lowest gas consumption since moving in. Just under 8700 kWh in exactly one year. Now the last 3 new windows are coming and soon a wood stove, so fortunately we are not completely at the mercy of the gas supplier. At least not completely. However, we will still need the gas connection for hot water for a while.

Yes, living with a stove and our own wood is really more relaxing these days. Even though it is annoying during the week to carry wood into the house several times, we gladly do it when it reduces our costs and gas bill. Sometimes it does get too warm for us when the stove is running at full speed. But many others don’t have this problem, so you can really appreciate having a stove in the house.

Terminating will be practically impossible for them within the minimum contract period. See recent ruling, they can't get out of it...

We recently moved in and our electricity provider offered us to keep the tariff we had agreed on last year. Nearly 28 or 29ct/kWh and even a credit of 40€. Is the local grid operator. Otherwise, we would have signed up with eon via Mediamarkt for 31ct, but with a much higher basic fee. With our oil heating and solar for hot water, it shouldn’t hit us too hard overall.

sure 30€ gross monthly basic fee 4.5 cents gross per kWh for the heat 9,000 euros for buffer storage and connection of the pipes to it. Fresh water is extra, I don't have it ready right now
