It’s the same for us, or even more intense. Offer confirmed in December 2020, contract with the prices from the offer signed in October 2021. Work started in November 2021. Fixed price remains until the end

Tell him that the interest is one-sided only, unless he lowers the price :)

Regarding the absolute numbers for the increases, I obviously agree with you. And it does add up. However, you are also well above the standard, so hopefully a buffer will easily cover the costs here as well. I come back to the annoying topic of "expectations." However, you can very, very easily save costs with you so that the construction remains affordable.

Very, very easily? How do you think that should work? Bring on the tips ;-) I don't mean "yes, you can just leave out the basement and plan living space downstairs and eventually build a carport next to the house" - because it's long too late for a comprehensive replanning.

Yes, above the standard, but you need construction steel, concrete, bricks, roof tiles, and windows for every (solid) house. But it shouldn't be about my project specifically here - and generally speaking, as you also say, it is unfortunately already the case that what seem like "small" amounts at first glance currently add up drastically ...
