But if you look closely, half of the construction was organized during working hours and often also carried out during working hours.

That's true, and so the system dug its own grave. Thank God :)

But if you look closely, half of the FORUM was read during working hours and often also filled out during working hours. :D

.....unfortunately only 1 approval is possible! I also find such representations from a different time and different circumstances absolutely interesting, which is why I hardly understand why one has to immediately dismiss them with a ruling opinion like that! One doesn't have to or maybe shouldn't imitate or copy it, but thinking about it doesn't really hurt.

Doing more yourself is of course still a solution to keep construction costs low - regardless of when someone invests this time and under what hardships. Many lack the following essential components: 1. Lack of willingness to make an effort (reasons are often given as excuses) 2. Lack of physical prerequisites 3. Lack of general practical skills in dealing with materials, substances, and tools Many houses built 30 or more years ago had lower costs, but the builders sometimes paid a higher price - and that is not measured only in money.

I absolutely agree with you. Many people are getting quite comfortable. And that’s also due to cheap money being available. Whether financed or given as a gift. In forums and Facebook groups, I have to read how the saleswoman and the car mechanic advise others to plan at least 20,000 for bathroom sampling. Even if the toilet, washbasin, and toilet paper holder cost five times the internet price: it’s much more practical to have everything done by the general contractor from a single source. Installing a washbasin yourself? Nope... I often have to wonder whether they still realize how long they have to work for 20k. The same applies to the outdoor facilities. They want them to be finished at move-in or shortly thereafter. Where does one quickly get a landscaper? This is already a “normal” demand today. That was definitely different a few decades ago. Many things were still done piece by piece by one’s own effort after moving in. Presumably, average people will increasingly return to this way of thinking. The fortunate part of the inheritance generation can probably continue as before.

From a building physics perspective, it is not possible to build a solid house within 3 months. It simply does not work. And everyone complains about mold in the hermetically sealed huts.

And when I see how construction is done and especially at what price, it makes me sick. But very often this results from the fact that people have no idea about anything.

Sure, you can no longer compare the working world with that of 40 years ago. Nor the FRG or the GDR.

The problem is rather laziness. Nobody wants to mix concrete, carry stones or dig a construction pit anymore. But I cannot just throw 60€ an hour and more to an electrician for him to cut slots in the Poroton. In the end, it is done by an Eastern European temporary worker. So I can do that myself.

The question always remains. Do I bust my ass for 2 years or pay the bank for 30 years.
