That is different from the phone provider where you have to give 3 months' notice in advance so that the contract does not renew. A 99-year heritable building right expires after 99 years and automatically reverts to the owner. If you want to prevent that, you have to take action beforehand and conclude a new contract.

6 weeks delay of the drilling (illness, machine broken, etc.), then drilled now but wiring and connection to Novelan only possible in January (Christmas/vacation of the trades), therefore this very unfortunate timing situation.

I think we are talking past each other. I mean the specific contract that posted excerpts from earlier. There are clauses in it that practically make termination by the leaseholder impossible. Even after the term (which by the way does not have to be 99 years, it can be longer or shorter), because the leaseholder has a right of extension. This only serves as an example that it does not automatically have to be that you are solely at the mercy of the owner's goodwill.

I'll ask very simply, does every bank do that? Ours, as I said, immediately said no to leasehold except if you come under 60% loan-to-value (no idea why)
