I think we will do something similar now. We let the sanitary trade install the connections and piping, and from the tile edge, we will do it ourselves. For example, we also will not spend €600 on a simple toilet bowl. I just don’t see the point. Regardless of whether it has a "the-wurst-slips-up-to-orbit coating" or not. Since we are only dealing with the trade in summer 2023, I assume there will be craftsmen available for it, but aside from that, you can really install a toilet bowl, faucet, and wall cabinet yourself without having completed 3 years of training and 5 courses.

No wonder, interest rates are falling. They will go down even further. One should be on guard now

This is a constant up and down. From yesterday to today, once again up by 0.10%. Previously from Monday to Tuesday, down by 0.12%. I don't yet see a strong downward trend. As a banker, I would call it consolidation.

I don't believe that interest rates will fall back to 1-2% in the short to medium term. In my opinion, we are currently seeing the classic bear market rally. Suddenly, it will then continue to rise sharply again in one big move.

What are the short-term forecasts there? I have the impression that it is currently the calm before the storm... Building material prices are stagnating or slightly decreasing, while product availability is increasing. Major suppliers are again offering 4-week price guarantees - interest rates are falling slightly but steadily... Offers from the industry are coming somewhat faster again and you less often get the response "price applies at delivery time, deliverable between autumn and Easter"... This probably won't last much longer, right? Being able to finance below 3% would almost be a blessing, when a few weeks ago it was nearly 4%...

A different question: Are there currently any subsidies from the KfW that one could use in the course of a new build? Photovoltaics or the like?
