Since there are no facts or findings on this as of today, I would refrain from taking a position contrary to the propaganda of both sides. Both have an interest (and the ability) to blow up the thing.

To put it in terms of Nordstream: Public broadcasters every hour: "It was 100% the Russians, never the Americans." Current facts: Americans knew at least about it, Ukraine is possibly the perpetrator in focus with US cooperation.

Just one example among many.

But a nice topic, fits perfectly here also because of (re)construction costs.

Now specifically, who broke the dam and is now drowning people? Your chances are 1:4, whether Russian, Ukrainian, USA/NATO or someone else. Your answer will soon be verifiable.

Of course it’s not being read. It’s rubbish after all. But that doesn’t mean we never took a look. Both inside the newspaper (which sometimes lies around in public places), and in the TV reports, which were suggested to me on YT so often until I explicitly clicked on the right (hehe, right), telling the algorithm to spare me from it.

We already know what’s inside. We don’t buy it. Out of conviction, not out of ignorance.

P.S. – Rezo once made a video about journalism, and “Die Welt” didn’t come out looking very good there either.

I’m betting on the Russians. They are militarily slowly standing there with their pants down, that’s why they’re now using kindergarten tactics: Surrender, or I’ll destroy everything. And in their state media (they really have those, unlike us) they can then say again “look, the evil Ukrainians, they did this to their own people!!1elf” ... A good example, by the way, that our media here are not as “controlled” as radical right-wingers like to claim: I just read yesterday in the Tagesschau that the investigations into the Nord Stream explosions are currently pointing toward Ukraine, and the USA supposedly knew about it. That certainly wouldn’t be written in western-censored media.

In my perception, Die Welt has the most extreme anti-Russian position alongside BILD. Stronger than the public broadcasters.

How do you deal with that, after Welt with Mr. Röhn were the "most serious" anti-corona supporters?

Der Volksverpetzer exists and is needed as long as Tichy and Reitschuster exist. It is exactly the same, just from the other perspective.

All that certain people say about the public broadcasters applies exactly to their own sources of information as well. They consider themselves enlightened and overlook that Ballhausen, Reitschuster, and their ilk only tell people what they want to hear to make money. Like any other "system whore," really.

I do not speculate. There is no data. I also did not take a position in 2020 regarding Corona when the demonstrations started. It was right to be cautious at first. But at the beginning of 2021 the situation was clear both data-wise and scientifically. From then on, the real crime against children, seniors, the unvaccinated, and care staff began. From then on I was on the street weekly showing solidarity. Vaccination was purely selfish; anyone who says otherwise here is lying. Everyone could know that there was never any protection of others.

Die Welt and BILD are very one-sided regarding Russia’s war of aggression. That doesn’t bother me. Reitschuster is also in line with the government on that. That’s exactly what makes it. These portals don’t always have to be against everything either.
