Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

A quote for the photovoltaic system just came in:

9.72kWp
3 roof sides occupied
405W modules
No storage
No wallbox

Exactly 20k gross including installation without scaffolding.

Really intense offer. 20K gross = net because it would probably only be installed in 2023? You would have 24 modules and that on 3 pages? Does that make sense?

3 roof sides with or without shadow management? Anything special about the inverter? Sounds "expensive" to me at first, but maybe already the new standard?

Storage would cost about 10k€ on top.

I have to add that the buffer tank has a modulating electric heating element and the plan is for the photovoltaic system to mainly take over the heating function during the transitional period/summer, so the heat pump doesn't switch on and off so often. But that would actually be more of an argument to size the heat pump differently. hm, damn it but that's just how it is now :-/

Did the same installer also put that idea into your head? :p An electric heating element is just a backup for particularly terrible frost days when the heat pump can no longer manage. Why do you want to use an electric heater with a factor of 1:1 (heating element) (in reality there are losses) for heating when you have an electric heater with a factor of 1:3 - 1:5 (heat pump) (deliberately taking a wide range) available? Sorry @all this actually doesn't belong in the construction costs thread, we can also move to yours if you want and you have a link...

already declined last year despite lower costs. The era of private PVs is over. It's all going to large projects, solar parks, etc. It no longer scales at 8-15 kWp. Still, I have a preparation on the roof – something will only go on there when it really pays off. And no – I will not, as an ideology-driven German, believe that I can save the world with photovoltaics while coal power plants are being built everywhere around the world. Better let those who have the money invest.
