The question is also how to make it attractive for older people to give up their property in time and not only when it is run down. Simply moving to an apartment in the city with a tiny balcony is not an attractive solution either.
Why should an older person give up their property? When do you consider the right time? And what is run-down? For some here, a house seems to be just a shell that can be changed at will. But there are quite a few people who are attached to what they have partly created themselves. Especially since the people who are old now have contributed a lot more of their own work. There are memories attached, one feels comfortable. Why should one give that up?
