So in Munich you can also get around quickly by bike - it doesn’t feel like a big city at all. Does that even exist in Germany?

Well, if Munich isn’t a big city, then what is? After all, it has 1.5 million inhabitants. I studied near Boston. Everyone would probably call it a big city, but it doesn’t even have half as many inhabitants as Munich.

Well, have you ever been to New York City or Shanghai? Even London is many times bigger than Munich. Munich feels like a village to me.

Such cities, however, are referred to as megacities (> 10 million inhabitants), whereas cities like Munich and Boston are defined as large cities or metropolises. PS: But I agree with you that certain parts of Munich do have a somewhat village-like character.

What some people here say is at times absolutely terrible... And that has nothing to do with different points of view.

There are Tier, Lime, and Bolt here. With 125,000 inhabitants, Wolfsburg is a large city, but it doesn't feel like one. What could be called the main urban area has about 62,000 inhabitants, and the more village-like incorporated settlements already have 30,000 inhabitants.
