Well, if the subsidy for hybrid heating systems is discontinued, you might see reasonable prices there again. Supply and demand, after all. With the offers, I had the feeling that the subsidy was already factored in…

We actually wanted to switch from gas to heat pump/photovoltaics this year (old building, gas consumption just under 11,000 KWH for the past 5 years). It didn’t work, there were no craftsmen available. Now it is supposed to be done next year. Apparently, the subsidies are being heavily cut. We already knew that even with the old subsidy, the prices might be too high for us. If nothing changes, we won’t be able to renovate the heating system and will have to continue heating with gas at a high cost. We haven’t found a [Goldesel] in the basement yet. We also don’t have €10,000 a month, not even close. Now we have to wait and see how the situation concretely looks and then recalculate.

The assumption that no heat pump subsidy is needed because only "rich" people have houses completely overlooks rural areas. Here, an extremely large number of people own homes. It feels like the majority of families. There is more or less every type of income. The level of renovation varies as well. For example, we are now buying a house that has been well renovated, except that it still has an oil heating system. We want to change that, but since we first have to save the money alongside the mortgage payment (net household income of about 4500 including child benefits), it will take a few years, and a subsidy certainly helps us then. Taking out additional money would of course be an idea, but if you don't know when you will even get access to craftsmen and materials, in the end you pay a lot of commitment interest.

Exciting everything. At the beginning of the year, I contacted 6 HVAC companies to work on a new build. 5 never responded, one was fair and said I should ask again in a few months.

In the last few weeks, 3 of the "non-responders" have called. Unanimously, they said they now have available capacity again. So either they all found new employees (haha) or many projects were put on hold.

I don’t understand why you want to remove the oil heating system. It is probably currently the cheapest and safest form of heating besides the heat pump. And especially in existing buildings, it makes perfect sense. Better save up for a photovoltaic system and combine both. It has never been wise to change everything just because something is currently fashionable. As I have written several times, I see the heat pump similarly to the storage heaters in the 80s. Nobody wants those anymore today. Many heat pump owners don’t even have a chimney in the house. That will have consequences. Certainly, it also always depends on the region. It makes a difference whether the house is in the Bavarian Forest or in the Rhine Valley.

How much does such a switch from a gas condensing boiler to a heat pump (air-water) cost? Just a rough estimate.
