This is not only the case here, prices for wood are also rising in Finland. And they have a lot of wood themselves.

Proposal: let's stop talking about "wood". Roundwood = trees = not scarce = cheap Sawn timber = processed by sawmill = scarce = expensive In all the discussions about the scarcity of "wood", this misunderstanding is annoying. Time and again comes "but we have so many cheap trees!", "The Russians are doing it right - they no longer export their trees!", "We just have to pay forest owners more for the trees!"

Interest rates were higher; overall, it was much cheaper. One sets an example, everyone follows ... in the end, as I see it, many live in the sticks.
