Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

We get the wood from the church in my home village. Paid 32€/m³ for the first delivery at the beginning of the year and 45€/m³ for the second coming January. But we cut and split it ourselves. They are 5m long logs.

You have to explain to me HOW one gets wood from the church?
Are you the pastor or something like that?
How did that come about, especially these cheap prices???

Why do so many people still build with a basement? Especially nowadays, I would leave it out purely for cost reasons. Everyone I know doesn’t miss having a basement. You can perfectly accommodate everything above ground in the 2 floors: heating, utility room, etc.

We have about a 3m slope over 15m on the east side of the property. Additionally, there is a slope of about 1m over 10m on the south side. It will also be a habitable basement. Anyone who fills in under these conditions loses living comfort and real money.

Here in SH, by the way, similar prices: in 2022 ordered for 30€/Rm net and for logging in Jan/Feb 2023 for 33€/Rm. – free access at 5-9m length and 30-40 cm diameter and for 30 Rm each. Of course, you still have to saw, store, split, store, carry, but then it is under 2.5 ct / kWh. New customers are no longer accepted at most forest offices here and "small consumers" also pay more and are supplied with lower priority.

Where do you get the wood? From the forester? And how did you find out about it? It’s not in the newspaper or anything.. Does anyone have tips on where to get wood (of any kind) cheap IN GENERAL??

Check on ebay classifieds, private sellers offer the RM for 50-100€ depending on the type.

A bit about construction (ancillary) costs: - Archaeologist (required by development plan, demolition of old building from the 1960s in an area with 50 houses from the same period) - 1000 euros because there are "earthworks" ... - Dismantling electricity, gas: 1647 euros - Conversion of water to construction water: 1040 euros - Installation of construction electricity 1020 euros Building application for house + 50sqm garage: 1020 euros
