Was the shortage of skilled workers already so large in 2018? I think what currently leads to significant costs in some federal states are the authorities and the long processing time of the applications. Many builders conclude contracts for work and financing before the building application is submitted. If the building application now takes 10-12 months, the commitment interest and the end of the price guarantee immediately take effect. That can already cost several tens of thousands of euros.

The shortage of skilled workers has been present in the construction trade for years. Since then, it has not gotten any better.

At the old sites, 4 new reactors each with 1.5 GW. And that's that!

True. But I also find the attempt to whitewash oneself as a descendant through supposed eco-world-saving equally disgusting. "The world shall recover through German spirit" reloaded.

And the issue of disposal and final storage of radioactive waste will then be solved exactly how and where?
And who will be responsible for the disposal and final storage of radioactive waste for the next 10,000 years?
Who will bear the costs of the damage after a reactor catastrophe like in Chernobyl or Fukushima?

It is relatively simple: since we have been operating nuclear power plants for decades now, there is a large amount of radioactive waste that must be stored permanently for about a million years. The problem must already be solved, regardless of how much additional waste is produced. If all nuclear power plants are shut down now, this waste does not disappear. If additional nuclear power plants are built, the difficulty of the disposal problem hardly changes; only the amount then increases annually (the amount of additionally produced fuel rods is small compared to the waste that will result from the dismantling of the existing nuclear power plants).
