Construction costs are currently skyrocketing

I am at a loss for words at so much inappropriate privileged whining.

Should I be ashamed now? Or what is this allusion supposed to mean? And yes, I want to keep what I have achieved, or is that reprehensible? I know what it means to own very little.

It depends on the region and the specialist dealer... Currently, I estimate about 1,600 gross per ton as a very rough guideline. What concrete offers do you have?

From various structural builders between 1,700 and 2,500 gross. I find these fluctuations extreme. Sometimes steel costs more than the entire foundation + walls made of concrete.

Wow. That’s intense... My estimate concerns NRW - the more dealers you have in between, the more it naturally becomes. Factory + building materials dealer = end customer (basis for my price of 1,600) is obviously a different price than factory + building materials dealer + contractor ( + possibly subcontractor) = end customer. Sorry if I gave you the wrong idea there.... Currently, everyone wants to fill their pockets to the max and if everyone joins in, these are the "cartel structures" we currently have in so many sectors.

A bit about construction (additional) costs:
- Archaeologist (required by development plan, demolition of old building from the 1960s in an area with 50 houses from the same period) - 1000 euros because there are "earthworks"...
- Dismantling electricity, gas: 1647 euros
- Conversion of water to construction water: 1040 euros
- Installation of construction electricity 1020 euros

Yes, the construction (additional) costs can really add up!!
Although I haven’t heard of having to involve an archaeologist before.
Were there perhaps rare finds or something similar in the neighborhood?

You need electricity at least for the construction site/house, don’t you?
And why conversion? Water is just water ;)

There is nothing inappropriate at all, we earned everything ourselves. And besides, I did say that we are doing well and I don’t want to complain. So keep it real. I would just simply like to take a flight somewhere for once and not always stay in a vacation apartment costing 40-60€/night or in the bungalow built by grandpa himself 60 years ago where we sleep in the living room and don’t have a shower.

You say you don’t want to whine, but you do it anyway. Being able to build a house and then complaining about the "bad" vacation is quite something. If I’m supposed to stay grounded, maybe you shouldn’t have your head in the clouds.

*I* think *one* should be aware of how many
a) people don’t have the chance to study in their lives even though they *deserved* it
b) people don’t have the means to acquire their own plot of land with their own house
c) people don’t live in the feel-good oasis mother - father - child(ren) even though they would like to

and then *I* would reconsider whether to really throw out such statements like the ones I quoted. Your "I know what it means to not own much." doesn’t really make it any better.
