So building a house without a chimney is completely useless. Every house should have at least one, if not more chimneys.
Because retrofitting one later involves significantly more effort, possibly not even feasible anymore. Times are changing.
A nice kitchen stove with a cooking surface, a viewing window, and an integrated oven, of course heatable with wood and coal, equipped as a continuous burning stove. That’s what residential quality means to me. I don’t want to do without it, just like the fireplace in the living room. The chimney runs through the middle of the house and heats it completely in winter. And I actually don’t care about my CO² footprint.
The tree that releases CO² at night doesn’t really think about it either.
In any case, I wouldn’t rely solely on a heat pump as the primary and only heat source.
We don’t know how electricity prices and inflationary trends will develop. I also don’t feel like chasing after the cheapest heating system every few years. I also don’t like underfloor heating. It is firstly very sluggish, unhealthy, and you simply cannot generate localized heat. In winter, when I come in frozen, I sometimes have 25 degrees in the kitchen. On the other hand, I also don’t like always having warm feet due to underfloor heating. In the bathroom, yes, gladly. But not more than that.
The prices for solar systems will continue to rise sharply according to demand. Of course, there are other points. If the minimum wage is raised to 12 euros, then the entire salary structure will also increase. This will also be reflected in the calculated estimates. That material costs and labor costs, i.e. construction costs in general, will decrease—I do not see that currently.
And where do you get the wood from? Do you have your own forest or do you buy it?
