With

With that statement, what do you qualify yourself for?

By the way .... does it probably make sense to get the materials for basement ceiling insulation and stair insulation now and lay them aside?

To be honest, I'm a bit done with working at the moment. Especially since the walls down there first have to be replastered,

But there is a calculation error - isn't there? I would calculate China: 1020 / 1400 = 0.72 GW/million inhabitants Germany: 131 / 82 = 1.59 GW/million inhabitants Nevertheless, I agree with your basic statement that China has generally recognized the energy dilemma and tries to act, simply out of self-interest.

Yes, he divided 82 / 132 instead of the other way around.

The Frankfurter Allgemeine currently has a longer article with forecasts on construction price development and the various supply chain problems on the homepage. Title: Hard landing for the construction industry. The decline in owner-occupied housing construction is estimated at 18%! The building material prices should ease for most sectors around the beginning of next year, but the overall construction costs will remain high.

Apparently not. :D
Jokes aside. A large part of Chinese "renewable energy" comes from hydropower (almost twice as much as wind & solar combined).
It requires certain geographical conditions and cannot be scaled arbitrarily.

After my last construction weekend including a visit to the hardware store and tile dealer, the following can be stated: OSB panels are gradually becoming "cheaper" (still extortionate from my perspective but at least). The tile dealer currently has everything I need in sufficient quantity in stock and also at reasonable prices. To everyone who is currently building or renovating, I wish continued perseverance! Or to put it in the words of the former chancellor: We can do this! ;)
