"Green rabble," "Green Khmer"...

Pull yourselves together, kids! One can also argue objectively and factually. At least if one possesses a minimum amount of intelligence.

This draft law does give me quite some concern. We do not earn so generously that we would/could simply replace our heating system "without reason" just because year x has been reached. However, we must replace it within 5 years at the latest if the law stays as it is. We want to switch to a heat pump anyway in the long term, but it would be nice to decide exactly when ourselves. If something else unexpectedly needs to be done on the house beforehand, replacing the heating system at that time would be financially highly critical. I hope that this will at least be combined with proper subsidies or low-interest loans.

It doesn't affect me, but I would just wait and see. The SPD is anything but enthusiastic about the draft, and the FDP could practically dissolve itself if it approves the draft. In my opinion, improvements will still have to be made.

I basically also find the approach absolutely right. Climate protection doesn’t come with pampering. However, I also see it critically that everyone should pay for it themselves. Especially in old buildings, the heat pump is simply a huge cost factor. Alone the surrounding measures quickly swallow more than 10,000€. Then the heat pump itself, and then you need photovoltaics because otherwise you simply heat with electricity, which is also expensive.
We will soon insulate the basement and install underfloor heating. In the rest of the house, the radiators would have to be replaced at least for a heat pump. The facade and roof are already insulated. New windows are already installed, a new front door is coming soon. New windows cost about 8-10,000€ over the years. New front door 4,300€. All self-installed. The facade was done already, roof insulation was also around 5,000€. Underfloor heating, screed, and insulation are also around 10,000€. New radiators might be about 2,000€ more. So. We haven’t even done the heat pump and the photovoltaics yet.

Yes, exactly, that is the problem. It is not just the heat pump itself that costs. Our house was extensively renovated in 2008. However, we would still need new radiators or underfloor heating with a heat pump. There are solar panels on the roof, which would then sensibly be replaced by photovoltaics(?), although there is hardly any south-facing roof area. Actually, the roof area in all directions is quite limited due to large dormers on both sides. Maybe something could be done on the existing terrace roof. That could then be oriented west and south. To even decide all this, we would need a specialist anyway, who certainly would not do it for free. Maybe a specialist would also say that it would be wise to renew the windows soon as well. Even without windows, the heating with all the necessary extras very quickly adds up to a mid five-figure sum. That is not something most homeowners can easily pull out of thin air.

Nothing is eaten as hot as it is cooked. There will not be many subsidies - the property owners have it anyway. *irony* It is not done just by exchanging the boiler for a heat pump. The old heating circuits are designed for high flow temperatures. A forced renovation is also not good for the environment. Things that still work are replaced with new ones with a lot of effort.
