Pixel 7. Wanted to move away from Samsung because it feels like with every generation the batteries get worse. Except possibly with the flagship, I don't know. I'm not willing to spend that much money on a phone. Your calculation with 435/24 still doesn't add up - if I took the contract for 24 months, it would be 38€/month, so still significantly more expensive than buying the phone outright. But we're drifting off-topic, everyone can do as they please. In any case, I've rarely seen a contract with a phone that made financial sense. I said rarely on purpose, not "never".

I always take the "old" phones from my dad, I get an iPhone every 2-3 years, which is completely sufficient for me. And that’s why I only need mobile plans without a phone. If I didn’t get them from my dad, I would buy them used. Huge selection of phones that still work perfectly for many years. Because many people often buy a new model without any real need. I currently have a plan, cancellable monthly for €8.99 per month with 3 GB or something like that. And flats.

Yes, my calculation does add up. You bought the device for 435. Calculated over 2 years it costs 18 euros plus your 13 euros for the tariff makes 31€ over 2 years. Did you mean the second tariff as well? Ok, sure. But that didn’t play a role in the initial consideration. And I’m telling you, these offers exist more than you think. Back to the topic, please.

I have to interrupt briefly - it doesn’t add up. 435 device + 13*24m tariff = 747€ total cost over 2 years. Tariff + phone at my provider: 38€ x 24m = 912€ total cost over 2 years.

Dear Kati, that's exactly what I'm saying. Your setup costs 31€/month and is therefore cheaper than with the provider. But there are also setups that are even cheaper than your approach. You just have to keep your eyes open.

These offers are actually primarily aimed at people who can't or don't want to put down 500 EUR for a new mobile phone... but still want to have the latest smartphone model.
It also has the advantage that you get a new device if the part gives up the ghost within the contract period.. with a self-purchased smartphone you turn to the seller yourself and the thing is gone for the time being.
