As halmi writes, as long as the system is running, you're not doing any favors to the environment or your wallet. If the burner happens to give up the ghost, heat pump + photovoltaic.
I have never really considered heat pump + photovoltaic before because I always see the fundamental problem that I mainly have electricity when I don’t need heating anyway. In winter, when I need to heat, I barely have photovoltaic electricity. For me, rather doubtful...
If your plan from last year to buy a new plot for later construction is still current, then buying a new heating system for the still inhabited house is pointless. Because no one will give you more money when selling just because you renewed the heating system.
Or have you decided to stay?
Well, that was originally meant as an additional project. Probably rather unrealistic due to the lack of suitable plots. Currently, I’m more thinking about building something on the back part of the current plot. However, it would have to be quite extensive if it is to take over all functions of the current house, so that I can rent out the front house then. Only then would it make sense.
1000€ per year for the gym? Do they do the exercise for you?
Costs 85 EUR per month, so roughly 1,000 EUR per year. Most of the exercises that are important for me I can also do at home on the mat. What I would really miss is the sauna. Therefore, I am considering it. And there would only be space there where the oil tank is now. A shower would also have to be added.
I do realize that it’s not optimal to replace one fossil energy source with another. But natural gas has a better CO2 footprint than oil. And I do think that consumption will noticeably go down. Are there any online calculators where you can roughly estimate how much gas I would consume with a modern condensing boiler plus solar support if I currently use about ten liters of heating oil per square meter per year?
It can’t be a permanent solution to burn heating oil...
