Hello,
We simply live in a sales society! Every provider is selling "their" philosopher's stone ;-)
That is probably intentional!
The only way to protect yourself against it is through external advice/planning/dimensioning.

best regards

Hello

my personal opinion is that I would definitely not build without a ventilation system.
We are currently still living in a rented apartment that was extremely insulated 2-3 years ago. Since then, you can no longer get any fresh air here. We live in a plastic bag and practically always have to keep some window open. Of course, that doesn’t really save heating costs...
Therefore, with today's highly insulated houses, controlled residential ventilation is indispensable.

We ourselves are building with gas - without solar! (with 15% rule) - and controlled residential ventilation.

Is that a good solution?? I think so - ask me again next year after I have lived one winter in the house ;-)

Best regards
Micha ;-)

The choice of the heating system also depends on other factors:

I didn't care about the KFW subsidy. Too many requirements!
Solar was not an option for us because of the orientation, thicker insulation was not an option because of the desire to build the semi-detached house as wide as possible.
I was initially persuaded not to take ventilation, but I changed my mind during the shell construction and it was the best decision. Not having to ventilate in winter and still always having fresh air is simply brilliant.

We are asking ourselves the same question right now.
Air heat pumps are inexpensive to purchase, but you have to heat with electricity in winter at certain temperatures - this was a deal breaker for me besides that loud buzzing box.

Geothermal energy is too expensive, not cost-effective, and also requires a significant amount of electricity.

We are currently undecided between pellets and gas, but want to additionally connect the fireplace in the living room to the heating.

I am skeptical about ventilation systems - the vents are ugly and no one has been able to tell me what to do if there is mold in the ventilation. Do you know more about that?

Hello,
How many kWh are actually needed additionally due to this circumstance? With well-planned systems < 1% of the annual heating energy demand! ;-) Moreover, not all "boxes" hum loudly, some are not heard at all.
Where does this certainty come from? ;-) With geothermal use, the usable, renewable share is the highest! No comparison to an uneconomical solar thermal system, which is mostly sold in combination with gas condensing boilers to naïve customers.
A question on the side: What is the actual demand (power, energy) for heating and hot water?
Does the latter actually make sense in particular? Are there concrete balance figures for this?
Overall: Are these just assumptions, or are they actually verifiable?

Best regards

If the heating system is properly planned and above all constructed, then a gas condensing boiler is certainly very reasonable. Underfloor heating requires low supply temperatures. However, this is not a problem at all with a reasonable design of the system. Amid all the talk about heat pumps, one must not forget that they are powered by electricity, and as soon as the heating output cannot be achieved due to external influences, additional heating is provided by electricity.
In case of doubt, it is always better to sit down once with the local craftsman and get information about the individual systems.
A house seller cannot and will not have an overview of the multitude of systems, which then automatically leads to such uncertainty.
