You can also install a very modern system from Homepowersolution HPS,
it is about 2mx0.8mx0.8m, located in the utility room.
Photovoltaics on the roof, electricity into the battery, into consumption, electricity with electrolysis into H2, storage in compressed gas cylinders, H2 into electricity with fuel cells. The system suffices with the H2 throughout the year, simultaneously heats and is a ventilation system.
Super modern, complicated, in market introduction, the device costs 55K€.
Simpler would be Solar Cloud

Thank you very much, I have probably been out of the race for too long, so these are still foreign concepts to me. But it sounds extremely exciting. I will look to see if there is more information about running costs, experiences, etc. The same with Solar Cloud... that is also completely new to me...-

If I had a free choice and gas has no starting advantage because there is no pipeline, I would choose a heat pump, because (I think) it is more self-sufficient than gas. You do need to have electricity supplied as well, but you can at least partially produce it yourself. Also, the environmental aspect. Somehow, I can't imagine that installing a gas tank plus regularly having gas delivered is cheaper than installing a heat pump? But I don't want to start a fundamental discussion here, the question is actually a different one, sorry! As far as I have understood so far, you need solar thermal with gas.

Air heat pump has now been running with us for over a year, all heating rods are off. Calculated consumption 4100 KWh/year according to the energy performance certificate, after a mild winter actually 3100 KWh/year consumed, plus 3000 kWh household electricity (with regular sauna), now considering photovoltaics with electricity cloud, that was a reason against gas, I can never generate gas myself, with electricity you can do everything at the moment

I am not very familiar with consumption values among other things, but isn’t 3100 kWh just for the electricity of the heat pump (heating/hot water), i.e. gas or oil replacement, a bit much? Then the heat pump wouldn’t have delivered that much energy, right?

Are you also two people?

yes, there are two of us, 125m2 living space, bungalow, approximately Kfw40 house, a gas heating system would have just been bored and cost basic fees. But now we have consumption values for our house and can continue planning with them. It can also be economical to simply keep heating and buy the cheapest eco bio heat pump electricity in [Pfandflaschen] every year.
