Air-water heat pump with photovoltaics or pellet with solar

I assume you also have a heat pump? Could you please post a load profile from March 16th?

This will certainly illustrate nicely that photovoltaics do not bring much benefit for a heat pump (which does not mean that photovoltaics are bad or uneconomical).

The blue line is the electricity demand, the gray area the photovoltaic production, and the blue area the coverage of self-consumption through photovoltaics.

We are talking here about a sunny day in March, so not deep winter but roughly 50:50 between summer and winter.

The compressor of the heat pump is clearly visible.

I am not that far yet. Construction will only begin with us. [Luft-Wasser-Wärmepumpe] is confirmed, I am not sure about [Photovoltaik-Anlage] yet, but I am preparing everything.

That generally does no harm either, but I would advise not to follow the argument that heat pump+photovoltaics is ideal unconditionally and blindly.

What do you mean by 50%? The photovoltaic share of total consumption (Altaktie) or the self-consumption of total production (Eigenverbrauchsanteil)?

I told you so... do an air-water heat pump without solar :D Photovoltaics still pay off after a certain time - it's rarely a losing business - at least with 1.5% interest and the current alternatives.

No one can answer that for you! We cannot predict prices and possible taxes and fees.

Pellets can be cheap if you have good access (own forest? A lot of forest nearby? Transport costs play a role...).

Electricity and also self-production of electricity can be completely different tomorrow due to legal regulations than today...

Maintenance is also part of the upkeep costs. Here, combustion will probably always be more expensive than no combustion. Simple and generally less technology will result in lower maintenance costs.

And then there is this: The better the house is insulated, the lower the (heating) energy demand.

I am now leaning towards an air-to-water heat pump. I was offered the Alpha LW 140 A. Who knows anything about the quality of Alpha pumps? I will probably retrofit photovoltaic with storage in the coming years. This combination simply seems the most up-to-date for the future and the best overall package for a household of 4-5 people. The big disadvantage of pellets, I simply see in the space requirement.., I would have it but then other things would have to be stored somewhere and one might regret it later... and I also don't want an underground tank, etc.
