Super! Thank you very much, I like it very much! Where did you get the aluminum material?

We spoke last week with a company for terrace roofs and conservatories. The strip foundations are apparently indispensable, as the running rails are mounted here.
In the showroom, they also had an example with a wood/WPC terrace. There, you could only see the guide rails in the wood, which were flush. I have to google [Sonne-Rundum] sometime. There are some example pictures on their site where you can see how the guide rails are mounted.
We also considered the idea of a cold conservatory that opens completely with sliding elements, but then our newly paved terrace would have to be taken up and redone, as it has a slope. And for the guide rails, there must be no slope in the terrace.

Now it will probably come down to a normal aluminum/glass terrace roof. Then with under-roof and vertical awnings. Although the mentioned dealer really outdid himself with his offer:
Terrace roof of 6m x 3m with two under-roof awnings and three vertical awnings (1x west on 3m and 2x south on 6m) is supposed to cost just under €35,000! That makes no sense to me! Even if this is brand-name equipment. Closed, the whole thing is supposed to cost twice as much! That would be a quarter of our house cost-wise....

My cold winter garden cost less than 40% of the mentioned amount including installation. Without awnings. 4x5m, including glass wedges.

As mentioned, a strip foundation is not necessary, our guide rail rests on an aluminum carrier.

A slight slope is not a problem, we have that too. The sliding doors are not so easy to move that they would roll away because of 2 degrees. Besides, you can slightly raise the rail at the front area, which doesn't really bother. I can gladly take a detailed photo.

: Sounds interesting... however, the awnings are quite expensive. They are from Markilux and the two under-roof awnings already cost around €6,300. They even want €1,500 for the LED spots in the rafters! I really find that hefty. We will contact other companies in the next few days. Where did you get the canopy from?

Sure, I have also already looked at awnings. The complete pergola including wooden deck floor, rhombus slats, climbing aids, planting, and lighting will cost me less than a branded rooftop awning. That’s why in the conservatory we are content with just a sunshade.

But still, €70k for a cold conservatory is really steep. I’ll send you a private message.

The slope problem would probably be more relevant if the top were no longer parallel because of it. But you can both create the slope there and slightly recess the track on one end.

Significant engineering costs are included in the price of a branded conservatory.

Yes, please.
