The supplier has incorrect meter numbers in the system - what to do?

I would point out the writing with the wrong meter numbers but not pay. What is the legal basis for this?

Regarding the electricity tariff: With every change so far, they only wanted the meter numbers that are on the meter. So why not just register somewhere and directly read and provide the correct numbers from the cabinet?

Regarding basic supply: There is no "getting stuck" there.

I would also first check if there is a separate network operator. That's how it is here. And then they are responsible for such matters.

I am pretty sure we have such a Power-To-Heat setup. The electrician explicitly told us that back then. I just didn’t know that it meant what you just explained. :D

Does that also explain the "wrong" meter numbers / are those possibly these virtual meter numbers? Or should they still match what is on the meters themselves?

I have already spoken with them. There are Pfalzwerke (supplier) and Pfalzwerke Netz (network operator). I spoke with both. The supplier referred me to the network operator, but the network operator is not exactly a service star. No prompt resolution is to be expected there. I would actually have to take the route via the BNetzA. If anything is wrong at all. Maybe it’s the thing with the virtual meter numbers that someone explained earlier. Currently, I am getting no answers on that. I can’t reach an electrician, the network operator has a customer hotline that first intercepts all inquiries but has no clue.

I’m glad that my quickly demonized "check if it might be because of that" wasn’t so nonsensical after all.

Whether it’s crocheted counterclockwise or clockwise doesn’t matter, but it has been checked and now we definitely know how it is.

Yes and no. That may be true for "classic" systems, but with more complex systems like the heat pump cascade, for example, there simply is no "heat pump meter." It is a virtual meter that is calculated. So it can very well be that in your basement you have
- main meter number GZ12345
- household meter number HZ23456

The grid operator can (!) therefore invent the heat pump meter with the number WP34567, report the value of this meter as (GZ12345 minus HZ23456) to the electricity provider. Then the billing can indeed show "meter number WP34567" and still be correct. Note well: This CAN be the case, it DOES NOT have to be, even IF it is a heat pump cascade. This means that when changing electricity providers, WP34567 must be reported, even if there is no meter with this number in the basement.
