I do hope I just somehow overlooked the irony in that sentence?

Exactly the opposite.

BECAUSE he was not educated in the political field, HE WOULD have the possibility, thanks to his scientific background (engineer), to make more neutral and realistic contributions than many others.

However, since he strongly adheres to confirmation bias, when it fits his personal societal view, he does not do that.
The last example I mentioned was a prime example of this.

But he doesn’t want that at all; he wants to run an opinion channel for advertising purposes – his good right.

Apart from that, he is of course right that the one-sided weighting of a supplier is totally ridiculous.

I only advise caution not to confuse such channels with sources of information. Information is something different from opinions – and in my opinion, we already have too little information with too much opinion in the classic media business.

Of course, quite a lot has been achieved. I don't want to speak ill of it per se. But I do believe that at certain points, action was not taken early and consistently enough. This becomes apparent with things like grid expansion, the share of photovoltaics on public buildings, etc. This is especially noticeable now because Putler has invaded Ukraine.

You just noticed at certain points that with the CDU/CSU & SPD, the energy transition is simply not part of the political DNA.

Certainly, because these parties are trying to walk a tightrope or are rather found in the middle of society as opposed to the other larger ones.

That is definitely correct, but in my opinion, energy should not follow any particular political direction if science points out a clearly correct path. The fact that there are parties that ignore the scientific consensus and are paid by the coal industry completely disqualifies those parties. Then to say that the CDU made an effort with renewables is completely detached from reality.

I would like to step into this topic and first share my current status:

I signed my contract with E.on for electricity and gas in 09/2021. The start was 01.01.2022 until 31.12.2022 with a 12-month price guarantee. The current prices are:

Gas = 6.75 ct/kwh + 127.37€ yearly basic fee with an estimated 10,000 kWh (should be about 800 euros) - 140 euro bonus
Electricity = previously 28.xx ct from 01.07.22 = 23.93 ct/kwh + 165.39€ yearly basic fee with an estimated 3,000 kWh (should be about 950 euros) - 170 euro bonus

Now I am naturally asking myself how things will continue after 31.12.22. Should I just let the contract continue as is and hope my provider does not drastically increase prices right away on 01.01.23, or should I already switch now to avoid even higher prices in December/January? What are your experiences here? I hardly think prices will fall over the winter...?

If I now go to the well-known comparison portals, a monthly payment for gas of over 40.00 cents/kWh is shown to me, in total then monthly 350 euros upwards. With my basic supplier, it is only just under 20.00 cents/kWh and a monthly payment of 175 euros.
For electricity, it is 60 cents/kWh upwards and 170 euros monthly, or with the basic supplier 37 cents and 100 euros monthly.

Therefore, my approach will probably look like this: I will still conclude a new electricity contract this week for the period from 01.01. to 31.12.23 (with about 30 cents per kWh through a currently still running Media Markt promotion) and let everything continue as is for gas. If there really is an increase there, I will have to switch to the basic supply. Unless someone here still knows a way to get a gas tariff at a "discount"?
