Last year, we were at a model home exhibition in Mannheim on a very hot day. There, a house by the company Weiss has a cooling underfloor heating system. You could immediately feel it when you entered the house. It was the only house in the entire exhibition that was not unbearably hot. We didn’t want to go back out into the heat. I found it very nice.

Best regards

We can also cool with our air-to-water heat pump through the underfloor heating. The additional cost for us was 0.00 because the heat pump can do this as standard. However, we have not tested it yet as we just moved in. We are already curious about the first summer. You really don't have to worry about cold feet because no really cold water flows through the pipes. I think the lowest temperature is 17 or 18 degrees *hope I’m not saying anything wrong now* And to the question above: tiles also get warm in summer, especially when they are directly behind a terrace door.

Then walk barefoot over tiles cooled to 20 degrees

Yes, there is indeed a difference whether tiles are 23-24 degrees, i.e. room temperature, or 19-20. Usually, one does not cool down any lower anyway because of the dew point issue. I always wear slippers, Birkenstock, so I don't care, but barefoot, especially on tiles, you will notice it. They still feel cool even at room temperature.

With the Google term "heizen und kühlen mit erdgekoppelten Wärmepumpen" you can find a study on the topic. Very interesting!

I only know split air conditioning from vacation, and there it is ALWAYS a discussion between me and my dear wife whether the thing is allowed to be on or not. Besides, decent devices quickly cost 2000€ and also consume a lot of energy.

Decent devices don’t really draw power – last summer we ran the air conditioning for hours almost every day and we didn’t notice it in the electricity consumption.

4 devices with Multisplit might cost around 3500 euros.

Don't forget: the humidity must be removed - otherwise cooling via the (brine) heat pump is almost useless! So keep the controlled residential ventilation running. With us, the room temperature can be lowered by almost 2 degrees - and that's worlds in summer. Power consumption: only the brine circulation pump - nothing more. Best regards
