We have just installed such windows in our condominium and they are great. I am also not a fan of French balconies. In the house, we are installing such floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere on the upper floor. They also bring in a lot of light!

we are planning our single-family house with a balcony and, in our opinion, there are good reasons for this:

- it is a corner balcony, large enough to place a table and sit
- the upper floor feels more open, you can step out of the room outside
- if only one partner is home in the evening, the other on a business trip, etc., then sitting on the balcony is definitely safer, cozier

But these are only our arguments, whether a balcony makes sense or not, everyone has to decide for themselves
