What is this basically about: a) synchronous operation of the shutters and venetian blinds (which I consider questionably desirable in practice for shading); b) central control in the sense of "one fell swoop, seven at once like the brave little tailor," i.e. minimizing manual action; c) the idea analogous to "central locking," not to "forget" any shutter when "locking up"? Actuators without sensors are "automatic but dumb," I would integrate a PLC into the control system – and accordingly, for alternative manual operation, use push buttons instead of switches.

You can also take a look at the system from "Digitalstrom". It’s not exactly cheap, but it works really well for us.

I actually didn’t want anything to do with smart home systems etc. in our new building. But we also wanted to be able to control all the roller shutters centrally. Our electrician then advised us against the classic wiring to a main switch, as the entire wiring would cost the same or more than a system from Rademacher, which he then offered us. For that, a radio transmitter is apparently integrated into each roller shutter switch and a central unit is installed in the utility room. We can then control all the roller shutters via our phone. For us, as complete smart home novices, that made sense. €2200 for the system, components, and installation (20 roller shutters). The system can apparently also be upgraded to other smart home components if needed, which we do not foresee for the time being. Maybe that helps you.

I'm jumping in here because we are also thinking about controlling the roller shutters. What do you base the automatic control on then? Brightness or movement in the room or something completely different? We haven't found a solution for ourselves yet and therefore are not sure if we even want it or how to solve it. I don't really like the idea of moving them all up and down together. In the bathroom, for example, it would be great if the shutter is already up early when I get up, but in the bedroom, I don't want to be woken up by the noise of the shutters going up at 5 a.m. in summer. Conversely, in the evening, the bathroom shutter could come down as soon as it gets dark, while you should still be able to see the starry sky in the living room. Somehow I still don't have the right idea for that.

Maybe I didn't express myself well. Yes, there are no more switches, but these are switches that you stick to the wall (at least with Somfy), which then look different from the rest, and I can already see the children ripping off the switches.

The switches are screwed to the wall. We have switches at the windows, central switches, and also smartphones for control. Somfy wind sensors coupled with the blinds. Everything works flawlessly. The frames fit perfectly with Busch Jäger Futura Linear in our case.

Time control is also possible.
