This is what it looks like, it has nothing to do with fetishism, I think heat pump technology is great, just not for heating a house... at least not for the prices being asked for it... for pools, electrical appliances etc. there is nothing better...

I also have 2 heat pump units in the house...

Basically correct, as always the individual local conditions are decisive in every respect! Heat pump electricity can now be obtained nationwide for 19 cents/kWh, without differentiation between peak/off-peak and without a differentiated meter (costs)! Here, fortunately, one is no longer dependent on regional suppliers, but free to choose nationwide!!! In some areas, gas condensing boilers are subsidized by the provider (connection costs), in others rather penalized (high connection fees)! This alone explains the fact that no ultimate heat generator (energy supplier) fundamentally exists, but the BV-specific and individual requirements/necessities are always decisive/determining! Therefore, there is no ultimate non-plus-ultra solution!!! Subsidized connection costs are often subsequently subsidized through "tying purchase agreements" (notice period, contract term)! Simply get a nationwide comparison offer for this! Whether insurance, electricity, gas, ...etc... Whoever wants to save cannot avoid annual differentiation if one wants/can take advantage of market opportunities! It is usually not convenient, but rather elaborate and tedious. Those who depend on this due to consumption costs cannot avoid it! Energy efficiency is usually only absolutely necessary for "normal citizens," those who can draw from the full pot are little interested!

Best regards

I do not have an exclusive supply contract. I can choose my gas provider freely. I am not bound to the local municipal utilities.

No, I have not found a nationwide electricity provider offering to me 19 cents without an extra basic fee on the usual comparison portals! The cheapest would be 21.45 cents plus 5.95€ basic fee per month.

Nationwide is simply not everywhere...

Completely correct, which is why the individual site consideration and evaluation is so valuable/necessary! That is also why there is no ultimate "philosopher's stone"!, which is often proclaimed by anonymous advisors without any professional training

best regards

I completely agree with you €uro! However, the ultimate "Philosopher's Stone" is far too often proclaimed precisely by advisors with professional training (personal experience). Unfortunately, it is not an exclusive right of the ignorant...

The consideration depends not only on location and object but also on the "when." A few years ago, I might have opted for the heat pump. Today, gas. In the future, it might look different again.

Even experts do well to recalculate their compartmentalized knowledge from time to time.

True experts actually don't need to do this, as they are always up to date. HB who completed their master craftsman certification 30 years ago and have remained at that level, on the other hand, are likely to have considerable problems.
At least a master student has been taught the theoretical knowledge of what static and dynamic pressure are, which a layperson with second-hand half-knowledge would hardly manage. Whether the master student actually applies and implements this is a completely different matter, since "stinginess is cool" usually determines the overall framework!
Many problems are home-made, caused by the clients, not necessarily due to the specialists!
A technically correct, complete planning/dimensioning must therefore always be a few hundred € more expensive than without it. A technically competent HB loses orders because the competitor does not offer this. So why should he do it? Better to have an order, even with imperfect planning, than none at all, especially since contract contents do not obligate to energy efficiency or low consumption costs! Therefore, no reproach can be made against him. This technically correct system builder has absolutely no chance to survive in the market, as it is dominated by cheapness!
As a result, one finds in energy-saving ordinance or KfW 70 buildings sold by general contractors/primary contractors, AWP as heat generators even though they are usually completely unsuitable. With gas condensing boilers, nonsensical hot water storage tanks are usually sold for the sake of polishing numbers, even though they are usually uneconomical in the single-family house sector.
In the end, however, everyone gets what they really deserve!
