If I were you (600sqm), I would focus on the following:
- reputable manufacturer
- self-propulsion
- cutting width >= 50cm
- good engine (Briggs&Stratton, Honda, etc.) with sufficient power
- mulching function
I find the electric starter unnecessary, but of course, you can take it if the mower otherwise fits. The idea of a ride-on mower is not so bad for the area to be mowed. If I had such a large area and a place to store it, it would definitely be worth considering. At the end of the day, open a cool Helles and then off to the couch.
I decided on the small Makita 4120N (gasoline) because of the just 125sqm to be mowed and the rather tricky layout:
- light and maneuverable
- no self-propulsion (don’t need it at this size and it can be annoying when turning)
- can mulch
- B&S engine
- very good experience with Makita in general
A Makita battery mower would also have been an option, I already have the 18V batteries and the devices are very quiet. But I simply like combustion engines and the extra power can’t hurt.
