Klinker or plaster? Durability / appearance?

Nice short question. What is the wall structure like? Our neighbors have aerated concrete and ETICS - so there are no more secrets. Arguments, family planning , even the TV program become public.

The plaster also depends on the materials again. Row houses were built around the corner from us. For cost reasons, the cheapest plaster was used. After not even 2 years, the houses (especially on the weather side) look so soaked that they would actually have to be repainted...

Whereas many brick-clad houses look better rather than worse after years...

But that's simply a matter of taste.

Initial cost reasons are often the cause of later inadequacies/problems. In my opinion, buildings are often constructed too large. With sensible planning, a few cubic meters of built-up space can usually be saved (costs), which should then be invested in solid and reliable foundations (building/facility) with the same budget!

Well, I find clinker bricks very beautiful, but both the cost issues and the fashion trends speak against them. I know many houses that are beautiful but precisely have these clinker bricks. Because of that, they are almost impossible to sell.

I never asked myself this question as a Northerner. [emoji4]

Clinker is a must, I don’t want to hear about savings without clinker either [emoji4]

The only question is which clinker.

I can’t decide here, it should still please me in 20 years.
