Hello!

We did the painting work (incl. filling), doors and floor coverings (excl. tiles on the ground floor and bathrooms) ourselves. We are also doing the outdoor areas.

and one00: you have no idea what you can do (if you want to)...

Wanting is one thing, whether you can acquire the knowledge in a short time, apply this knowledge, and have the time for it is another question.

Want another example:
We and many others in our residential area have made the attics accessible as storage space ourselves. I had previously read extensively about the issue of moisture. There was repeatedly the advice to use tongue-and-groove boards and not OSB panels or to ventilate accordingly.
Many took the easy way and simply laid OSB panels without a substructure.
That is certainly faster, also looks great at first, but what will happen in a few months or years, no one knows. It can work well, but it doesn't have to.

What does the example have to do with self-performance? Many craftsmen also lay OSB boards - even though the topic is well known.

If you lay [ESB-Platten], then you won't have any problems with all the advantages of OSB.

That a personal contribution - provided one claims to do the whole thing professionally, which I assume in any case - must be preceded by an intensive engagement with the topic should be clear to everyone. Just watching three YouTube videos and then believing you know how to properly carry out roof insulation can also go seriously wrong. Blindly trusting every supposed expert, however, can as well
