Why should the pavement sink... if it is laid properly, it is not an issue.

It always sinks because it is not on solid ground. And when you drive in with a car, depressions form. Unfortunately, this cannot be prevented.

If concrete was poured under the pavement, nothing will sink anymore. You just have to invest a few more EUR.

Nobody concretes under pavement, that would completely defeat the whole principle. How else is water supposed to seep through??

Not much is happening with us at the moment, we are still waiting for the windows (which are finally supposed to be delivered today).

The controlled residential ventilation system for the basement was installed on the ground floor:

In addition, the entrance area was "nicely" done, meaning the facade cladding was finished: The stylish interim entrance door is still unchanged!

Now I am curious what will happen today. Unfortunately, neither of us can be there to see the first windows being installed. FINALLY! The aluminum delivery difficulties have cost us almost 4 weeks now. Well, electrical and plumbing work has started, but working in the dark is not very thrilling. With windows, it will finally be bright in the house again, and hopefully warm again when the sun shines in.

We have also decided to glaze the ceiling, which until now has remained in natural spruce. In any case with a UV glaze so that it does not darken further and possibly we will mix in a little white. We have seen HOW dark such a spruce ceiling can become; we don’t want that.
We will now have to glaze the ceiling on the ground floor overhead, it is already installed, but for the upper floor, the material for the ceiling is supposed to be delivered soon, then we can paint it while it is still not installed. This will probably be our hobby for the next weekends and over the holidays. Hopefully then in daylight and in warmth (so not only windows installed, but also sealed).
