The only thing you have to watch out for is to use solid boards because of the frost.

You probably have to walk on them and decide what you like. I had stone and this time it will probably be untreated wood. If after many years one or the other board gets damaged, it will be replaced. Something like that is just easier than with stone. WPC are quite nice too but wouldn’t be my thing because they are mixed basic materials. I prefer either one or the other.
