- Do oil splashes or similar things not affect it?

You will have to wipe off oil splatters promptly. Let's see how promptly..

The kitchen is open to the living area in the direction where most of the photos were taken. In the photo below, you can see the kitchen in the middle at the back, still without furniture.

We planned it completely and went with that to the kitchen studio.

Don't worry, everyone has their opinion. We have analyzed our routines and preferences a lot and designed the kitchen largely around them. I see us well equipped with plenty of workspace (especially around the sink), lots of storage space (storage planning..), appliance positions (fridge > sink > countertop > cooktop), etc. But ultimately a lot of theory and the practical use is yet to come.
