True, we decided in favor of inner drawers for the sake of aesthetics. The front would have become too busy due to all the drawers and the resulting high-contrast seams.
I hadn't even noticed the side panels. I'll think about it. And we are so vehemently opposed to P2O that we didn't want it there either.

I also really like the kitchen and whether the kitchen is practical or not is very individual. There was also such criticism about ours, but for us it is great.

What I personally don't like, but that's just a matter of personal taste, is the countertop. At least from the pictures, I don't think it goes well with the oak fronts and the floor in combination. What bothers me personally is the third "shade" and I would have rather chosen a black or oak countertop (ok, then it would have to be real wood). But that's a matter of taste.

Wet hands, pots, etc., is not always avoidable.

You cook something in the pan and then want to put it in the oven, every time around the kitchen island.

Nevertheless, you look at a wall and it’s not 100% anyway, meaning the extraction.

Without knowing the circumstances, I would say that usually only 1-2 people are cooking anyway.

That has nothing to do with it at all, I just find it a bit of a shame, you put so much money in and then make these concessions. An open kitchen fulfills, among other things, the purpose that people can see each other and are not isolated while cooking, you look out.
I would miss the seeing here if people are now in the living room.

What I like:
+ Look
+ Space

Thanks The color combination is of course a matter of taste, like many things. We really like the combination of concrete - anthracite - oak. And a black countertop was out of the question for us, and we didn't dare to go with wood.

I think the kitchen turned out great! Visually really stylish, great idea with the cooktop in the niche! Opinions differ on something like that, but it clearly shows again that what one person criticizes is exactly what another finds successful. Some need the oven close to the cooktop, which personally wouldn’t matter to me at all. I feel the same way about preferring a pure prep island facing the room rather than a cooktop. You rarely stir in the pot for an hour. What also speaks for a cooktop on the counter row instead of on the island for me is precisely that fat splatters while frying can land on the niche cladding/back wall rather than on the whole island or even the floor around it. And not in the eye of the person who’s watching me cooking at the island while holding a glass of wine.

No, you misunderstood me, we have a closed front with drawers behind it, but as a pull-out drawer instead of a hinged door.
