It's a house building forum after all... why shouldn't one discuss the placement of power outlets there? Especially since there was a user who is facing the decision of where to plan the power outlets...

think about what you want to do on this peninsula. Do you also have a hob or the sink there? If you cook there, you will always put cutlery, a cutting board, or something else next to the hob now and then. If there is an outlet there, the bowl will wobble when you put it on or liquid will get in. And when cooking, you always put something down on the right and left, so an outlet would be in the way. If you have a sink there, I wouldn’t even consider having an outlet. We have a pure preparation island, so a smooth work surface. Even then, I wouldn’t want to have an outlet on top because it would ruin the smooth surface and the space I have, for example, for rolling out dough. Of course, I could simply roll over it, then you have a nice pattern in the dough and can cleanly trim the edges of the outlet with a knife. So for me, the disadvantages of an outlet on the worktop outweigh the advantages.

In any case, do not put the socket on the work surface. :p Better on the side of the island. That way it stays clean and does not get in the way when working or wiping the countertop.
