Why would someone voluntarily install drywall partitions in a masonry house?
The main reason was the issue of sound insulation. A 12.5 cm drywall partition (filled and double-glazed) is better than a 17.5 cm Poroton wall, and not to mention the space savings. We didn’t want calcium silicate bricks, although those would probably have been the best choice in terms of sound insulation.
