Hello Zaba12,

I have a photo. Here you can see the recess for a ventilation duct. We have such recesses from the basement to the upper floor. They were cut precisely into the stone (aerated concrete, 42.5 cm) before the stone was even laid.

Such a milling is a matter for the structural engineer, but not impossible. With monolithic masonry, it also depends on the depth, because of course a thermal bridge is created and condensation can occur inside the pipe. This would then need to be insulated separately. We had such notes in an earlier version of the ventilation concept, but nowadays nothing runs in exterior walls anymore. The bathtub on the upper floor drains through a downpipe in a load-bearing wall (175mm calcium silicate brick) on the ground floor – the structural engineer has approved it.

Oh holy. This has to be done differently. This is not only about statics but also about the U-value of the exterior walls.
